When the Newsboys put on a show, they
put on a show!!! A brand-new backdrop appeared for them. It was
red with the titles of famous Newsboys songs printed on it in
circus-style lettering. And check out the awesome lighting set-up!
I loved that green laser they had on Duncan's drum kit. Oooh,
it was really neat! Nice as this photo is, it doesn't do the actual
performance justice. It was just entirely too cool!
Phil spent entirely too much time
on his side of the stage! He needed to come invade Jody's territory
more often. ('Cause that's where I was, you see.) But here's
a far-away shot of Phil, singing his lungs out. Meanwhile, Jay's
lurking in the shadows. Hi, Jay!!!
Yeah, Jeff looks really excited to
be here. Nah, it's just a bad photo. Sorry, Jeff!
See, this is much better. Jeff is eternally
happy, I think!
Phil will not chew gum in class, and
Peter will not remain in-focus. Very contrary, these Newsboys.
Again, my second night photos are better. I retained my front-row
spot that night!
An okay one of the entirely too distant
Phil.
Okay, now is that the most gorgeous
guitar you ever saw in your life or what? I'm not much of a guitar
person, but this one is soo beautiful!
We started out in front of Jody. Then,
once the Supertone Mosh Extravaganza Deluxe started, we ended
up shifted to the left several feet, parking us right in front
of Peter. Which unfortunately means that getting a decent shot
of Duncan was very hard, as Peter seemed to always be blocking
him. Sorry, Duncan fans...
Ooooooooh! The spinning drum kit! This
is the first time since the Air Dome that I had seen it in person.
It was even better than I remembered!
Peter and Duncan pass judgment afterwards,
checking to see which side was loudest. I had no clue which side
to yell for, since I was smack dab in the middle. So I yelled
for both. Why not?! So both Peter and Duncan thought I was in
the loudest section! ;-)
Jeff took a short break to grab a
snack: some Cap'N Crunch that had made its way up on stage. Jeff
was so cute with it. After he got it open, he mimed to Duncan,
asking him through motions if he wanted to try and catch some
cereal in his mouth. It took a few times to get his point across,
but once Duncan knew what Jeff wanted, he was more that eager
to try it out! Jeff threw several pieces across the way to Duncan,
but Dunny never ended up catching any. Too bad... That would
have been hilarious!
There's no need to fear! More Newsboys
photos are here!
