Welcome to Festival con Dios!!! Ah, it's gonna be a fun ride taking you guys on a tour of my two-day Newsboys extravaganza. Florence, Paul, and I had sooo much fun! Florence and I felt VERY welcome when we first arrived. We hadn't even finished unpacking the car when we heard the roar of a motorcycle. And who comes zooming down the aisle we were parked in but Duncan on his motorcycle with Jeff on the back! Within inches of us! And I hadn't even unpacked my camera yet. Sigh... Why didn't those silly Newsboys look to see if we had our cameras first before they drove so close. Yeah, sure, Eanah. :) For those who like all the details, I'll tell you that neither Boy was wearing his helmet. Tisk tisk tisk! But we saw them a little later and they were both helmeted at that point. Whew! Jeff didn't hold on as Duncan drove around. He just trusts Duncan's driving skills, I guess. Jeff's arms just dangled at his sides as they made their rounds of the parking lot.

Anyway, we had a wonderful weekend! So why don't we get started? First stop: Visalia, CA.

Setting up the festival...

Look! It's the bikes! The bike in the very back on the left, just barely peeking through, the red bike...you see it yet? Well, that's Duncan's bike! The yellow bike on the far left is Jeff's. As for the black and yellow bikes on the right, it's hard to say. Peter and Summer were riding one. Phil was riding one. But I never saw Jody riding his bike, so I don't know if he also uses one of those bikes. Note that there are four bikes... so who's bikeless? Or where they sharing? Things we'll never know the answers to. Well, unless we ask them at some point! And see that black bus on the right side of the photo? That's the Newsboys' tour bus.

The toilet trucks cracked up Florence and me! We love the slogan on them. Yes, if I had to name an extraordinary event, FCD would be very high on my list! However, I have no first-hand knowledge of the infamous toilet trucks, so I can't vouch for whether or not they were "elegant." I'll just have to assume we weren't the victims of false advertising.

It took all those volunteers sooo long to set up. You can't imagine how sweaty they all were. Thanks a million, guys! I'm sure FCD couldn't have happened without you! On a side note, see the little yellow flag on the left? The grass was littered with them when we arrived. I think they must have been marking where tents were supposed to go. For some reason, it reminded me of a field with funky yellow flowers growing. Funky flowers and Newsboys seem to go together well. Anyone remember the TMTYL video? :)

Setting up a tent near the incredibly impressive stage! Boy, that stage was huge!!!

Well, that was informative, but not very CCM-star filled, now was it?
Well, fear not, for the next page includes some of the Newsboys on their bikes!
