Newsboys w/ Geoff Moore and the Distance, and Plankeye

A sold-out show of nearly 4000 people jammed into one of the best concert venues in the
Mid-Atlantic region, prepared for a solid wall of Christian rock music. They weren't disappointed! Plankeye began a 45 minute set, covering most of the songs from their latest CD, "Commonwealth" Plankeye is a relatively new band, but they've obviously had a lot of experience - their set was solid. Geoff Moore and Distance was next, and played a set laced with their classic songs everyone has come to know and love over the last ten years. Their style of music has faded in popularity in the last few years, but GM&D still continues to please.

Finally, the Newsboys came out. The six members of the band descended from the ceiling on three "Flying Saucers" while the theme from Star Wars pummeled your senses. The sold out crowd went crazy! The 'Boys began their set with "Not Ashamed" as a clear statement of their faith. They continued the set with many familiar tunes from "Not Ashamed" and "Going Public", while still playing almost all of their new release "Take Me to Your Leader". The highlights included: Shine, Take Me to Your Leader, Cup 'O Tea, Breakfast in Hell, and others. Later in the show, they had their famous "drumming duel" between their two drummers, Duncan and Peter. The 'Boys also interspersed some brief statements about their faith and beliefs between songs. They made it perfectly clear that they were there to glorify God and tell people about salvation. All in all, it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. The combination of message, music, and ministry was awesome!
